About Us
We are a small group of riders that are students at Lakehead University. We currently hold a team membership with the Ontario University Equestrian Association. Our competitive team competes on their show circuit against 6 other universities in the Central Zone. Showing on this circuit is unlike any other; with the combiation of Catch Riding, and 4 different divisions, from Entry to Open, this circuit provides University students a fun, exciting, and affordable opportunity to show while completing university. Our Mission |
Our mission is to provide our riders with a fun and affordable equestrian experience! Showing on the OUEA circuit allows for that.
We also aim to accommodate all types of riders from dressage to hunters to eventers! The teams coach at our host barn where lessons are mandatory for our riders is very knowledgeable and creates lesson plans to suit the needs of the teams riders! |
Our Team |
The Captain of LCET is Jenna Sittek. She has been riding for 12 years and is a certified FEEL (Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning) Practitioner. She owns a lovely thoroughbred gelding named Mylo who is now her main partner in the FEEL work. This is her third year on the competitive team and her second year as Captain. She competes in the Intermediate division of OUEA and for the 2013/2014 show season, she placed 9th overall in the Novice division!! The secretary of our team is Erin Chiarot. She is enrolled in the Social Work program at Lakehead University and is also the President of a club called "Crafting for a Cure". This is her second year on the team as a competitive member in the Novice division. Back home she has her own horse named Willow, a big Warmblood mare, and they are training for dressage (although Willow REALLY enjoys to jump!!). For the 2014-2015 show season, Erin placed 8th overall in the Entry division! |
